Cuban Melodious

(Tiaris canora)

cuban melodious

The beautiful Cuban Melodious Finch (Tiaris canora) is 3 1/2 inches of pure energy. When the male displays he fluffs out his yellow face and looks like a living pansie. They are best housed with larger finches that are able to defend themselves if the need arises.

A small finch mix is ideal. They also appreciate green food and Universal food. When breeding they should be offered egg food and small mealworms. They resent nest inspection but usually raise their chicks if left in peace.
