If you band at fledge, you will want to use a band one size larger than these recommended sizes.

Size "A" (2.20 mm) - Size "A" (2.20 mm) - Gold-breasted Waxbill, Orange-cheeked Waxbill, Owl (Bicheno) Finch, Quail Finch, Red-eared Waxbill, Strawberry Finch, and other small waxbills.

Size "B" (2.34 mm) - - Black-cheeked Waxbill, Cordon Bleu, Cuban Melodious Finch, Fire Finch, Olive Finch, Rufous-backed Mannikin, Timor Zebra.

Size "C" (2.55 mm) - - B&W Mannikin, Violet Eared & Blue-capped Waxbills, Bronze-winged Mannikin, Cherry Finch, Green Singing Finch, Grey Singing Finch, Heck's Shaftail, Lavender Finch, Painted Finch, Pileated Finch, Pytilias, Red-headed & Forbes (Blue-Breasted) Parrot Finches, Shaftail Finch, Silverbills, Star Finch, Red Siskin, Violet Eared Waxbill, Purple Grenadier, Cutthroat Finch, Society (American) Finch, Lemon Breasted Canary.

Size "D" (2.73 mm) - - Blue-faced Parrot Finch, Lady Gouldian Finch, Chestnut-breasted & most smaller mannikins, most other Parrot finches, Pictorella Finch, Pintailed Nonpareil, most Twinspots, Yellow-rumped Finch, Zebra Finch (American), Peales Parrot Finch.

"E" (2.89 mm) - Size - Black-crested Finch, Canaries (Gloster, Fife, Miniature & Irish Fancy), Diamond sparrow, European Greenfinch, Golden Song Sparrow, Nuns, Peter s/Brown Twinspots, Siskins, Euro Societies, English Zebra Finch, Spice Finch, European Goldfinch.

Size "G" (3.20 mm) - - Canaries (Border, Red Factor, Lizard & Roller), Magpie Mannikin, Siberian Goldfinch, most larger Mannikins, small Tanagers..

Size "J" (3.40 mm) - - Canaries (Yorkshire, Norwich, Crested & Parisien Frill), Pekin Robin, Silver-eared Mesias, most small softbills.

Size "K" (3.50 mm) - - Java Rice Birds, Red-crested Cardinal, Saffron Finch, Shama Thrush

Size "L" (4.30 mm) - - Diamond Dove (other small), Mousebirds, Button Quail

Size "M" (4.48 mm) - - Leaf Birds, Pagoda Mynah, large Sunbirds, Superb Starlings.
