Message from the President
March, 2001

Several items I want to cover this issue.

First and for most Kerri McCoy is conducting a raffle and I sure hope my ticket wins the Owl Finches donated by Harry Bryant, the Japanese Society Finches donated by Michael Marcotrigiano, or a pair of mystery birds, Hmmmm.  

The other item is the up coming election for the 2002/2003 Board. The nomination committee chaired by Annette Howard along with Armando Lee and Dale Laird are working hard at finding qualified candidates for each position. They have found multiple candidates for almost all positions, but will be accepting nominations until June 1, 2001.

Please remember if you are going to nominate somebody, ask them first to ensure the nominee is willing to accept the position. The July/August issue will be the opportunity for the candidates to run a short bio about themselves and the ballots will be in the September/October issue. The election results will be announced at the NFSS General meeting at the Nationals the 3rd weekend in November 2001 and the candidates will assume their positions January 1, 2002. The 1st quarter Board meeting was held in Tampa Florida the 3rd weekend in February this year. Look for the board minutes elsewhere in this issue. One item I am really excited about is they nominated me to be the NFSS sponsored speaker at the AFA convention this August. I hope all NFSS members who have the opportunity will stop by our booth and say hello….
