The Second Quarter NFSS Board Meeting began online April 10, 2005. In attendance Jim Heffernan, Randy Taylor, Sally Huntington, Patrick Vance, Raspberry, Bill Parlee, Darla Dandre, Alfred Mion, Ron Castner, Armando Lee, Harry Bryant, Martha Wigmore, Mark Phelps, Robert Mehl, Shelly Ortman, Paula Hansen

Treasurer Report

Mark Phelps reported we are in the 'black', and if we continue this trend through out 2005 we will have an extra $2300 to add into our current savings account of $13,000. Several board members gave ideas on how to use this extra money: i.e., extra pages in the Journal, color photos in the Journal, renting tables at local bird fairs, NFSS banners, improve our exposure on the Internet, place an add in AFA and work on expanding Finch and Softbill Save. Robert Mehl reminded the Board 119 members have paid multiple for years.. which can give a skewed income for 2005.

Misc. Reports:

Raspberry encouraged a discussion of the zebra and the society committees.

04/12/05 Darla Dandre announced she would have to resign her positions as NFSS Affiliations manager and NFSS Awards manager due to health and other reasons. Darla posted a file to the group giving the regional show applications received.

Shelly Ortman offered to take over the Affiliations, pro tem. Bob French volunteered to take over as the Awards Manager pro tem.

AFA dues are to be renewed.

Robert Mehl suggested NFSS develop an exhibitor handbook, to answer questions ref showing birds not found in judges handbook . Bill Parlee volunteered to do an outline for said handbook. Robert Mehl would work on a booklet and present it at the next board meeting

Motion to accept Shelley Ortman as Liaison Officer: by Raspberry, seconded Jim Heffernan
