The meeting was called to order at 7:15 pm November 18, 1999 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Buffalo NY.

1. A synopsis of reports from various departments previously distributed was read.

2. Three apprentice judges and their credentials were presented to the Board for consideration. Dale Laird, Sally Huntington, & Terri McCauliffe.  Motion by Steve Hoppin to accept the presented apprentice judges to the Judge's Panel. 2nd by Eileen Laird.

3. Shall NFSS award annually to the NFSS panel judge who has judged the NFSS annual National Show, held in conjunction with the National Cage Bird Show, a plaque commemorating his/her participation in this event, the style and wording to be selected by the NFSS Board? Motion by Martha Wigmore. 2nd by Steve Hoppin.

4. (Motion sent by Ron Castaner for Board consideration) That the 1st Vice President receive the $400 allocation for President's travel expenses for serving in the President's stead at the 4th qtr Board meeting. Motion presented by Martha Wigmore. 2nd by Kerri McCoy.

5. It was presented that the cost of selling rosettes to the affiliated clubs is more than the purchase price. Tabled until a new Awards Manager is selected.

6. It was determined the 2000 affiliation form will include both Affiliation and Awards selection to simplify the procedure for the clubs.  The Affiliation Director will accept affiliation forms awards orders, check for both and forwards awards information to the Awards Director.

7. That Harry Bryant be selected as the NFSS WEB Site manager effective immediately. Motion by Kerri McCoy. 2nd by Martha Wigmore. (A special thanks to Marc Riva for stepping in at a time when we had severe need and getting us up & running and re-vamping the WEB Site)

8. The budget was submitted by the NFSS treasurer. The end result is a projected deficit of ($426.41). Numerous ideas were presented to raise funds. Increase membership, year long raffle of donated birds with the drawing to be held at the Nationals, Regional shows and raffle fund raisers, similar to region 2 for 1999 ($100 raised) and raise band prices.

9. Raise the costs of a string of Bands to $3.25 a string effective March 1, 2000. Motion by Kerri McCoy. 2nd by Eileen Laird

9:30 pm Meeting adjourned

The Board meeting was re-convened at 1:00 pm November 19, 1999 with a quorum present.

All motions made and seconded the previous day were voted on and passed unanimously.
