Green Twinspot
(Mandingoa nitidula)

The Green Twinspot (Mandingoa nitidula) may be offered for sale under a variety of names including Green-backed or Schlegel's Twinspot (the Schlegel's subspecies has an orange breast that appears green in all other subspecies). This tiny 4 inch bird is the smallest member of the family and inhabits a vast area across Tropical Africa.

Green Twinspots require a diet that includes mixed small millets, wild grass seeds, sprouted seeds and a large variety of small insects. Both members of the pair build a large untidy nest and share incubation duties.
