BIRD SCAMS

Please be aware that there are a number of people out there who run "bird scams". Those people not only prey on bird people, they prey on any person having something to sell or anything of value. Here is how it often works.

They will send you an E mail pretending to buy the bird or birds you advertise. Once you reply you will get a E mail return immediately stating their intention to buy from you with very few questions asked. Your next E mail will let you know a check is on its way. Arrangements are made to have the bird or birds picked up by their private shipper. They have made all the preparations & there is nothing for you to do. All you have to do is cash their check and hand over the birds to their handler.

The money in the form of a cashiers check or credit union check is on its way. It really sounds good. The check will be sent to you from someone here in the US, a friend or business person that owes them money. The cashiers check, however, is much larger then the purchase. The request is for you to send the balance to them via Western Union as soon as you receive the check, since they are presently out side the US.

The birds ordered will be picked up at your home immediately by one of their transporters or you have to ship them to someone here in the US that later will forward the birds to the buyer outside the US.

With most people being very trusting & believing in the good of people they will deposit the check. They will release the birds & forward the money immediately. Until taken, the unsuspecting breeder does not realize that the bank draft or cashiers check credited to their account will take 10 working days to clear the banking system. By the time they get notified by the bank that the check is a forgery, the birds will have been picked up or shipped and the money sent.

Please do not release any goods or money until you are very sure the check is good. Please be aware that not everyone out there is honest!
